strange engine rattle

[Diesel Turbo]

I just started the surf this morning and noticed although the engine sounds tight and frugal it has a background noise too that give me slight concern!
When cold it has a rattling noise that sounds a bit like intermittently tapping a tea spoon an the draining board lol, I haven't lost any spoons that I know of!
I tried holding the revs at 2 & 3k to see the difference but it doesn't change with revs but still it is there all the same, Similar to an Idler gear on a car I had a few years ago.
The more the engine got the quieter the sound got too? any ideas guys, many thanks..yet again

Are you running veg oil? Mine does it when cold but goes when warm. Doesn't do it when on diesel. Ain't got a clue what it i though....

well done!! that is the sound although mine is not as loud...yet!
timing belt job now bought forward!
