  • 2nd Rad/Oil Cooler?

Gave the newly aquired Surf a service at the weekend. All went according to plan - pretty easly to work on really. Did the radiator flush - when I'd removed the bash plate I discovered what I guess is a large oil cooler fitted at angle directly underneath the main rad (almost as big as the main rad), which made draining the rad a bit of squeeze, and only done through the tap not the lower hose (as I couldn't get to it) Is this standard on 1992 2.4? I'm guessing it's for the gearbox oil? I took a photo of it (which I'll post later - I was suprised to find it!)

Oh, another quicky - how do you go about removing the fuel filter?

is that not the air con rad on a 2nd gen?

think the oil cooler is inside the main rad as the 3rd gen... easy to tell if you got rad pipes going in and also 2 smaller pipes then they're for the trans oil
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

Yes, it must be trans oil - it's got two small pipes on the n/s.
