so today i collected my new and rather cool looking truck and and its very exiciting however i wonder if somebody could point me in the right direction as i am sure i have seen the answers....
-the guide on the sunvisor is written in japanese and i would sort of like it in english? i think it is the 4x4 instructions.
-the red button..is it just so you can move the auto stick whilst the engine is off?
-how do i stop it from over heating? i have a new rad in it and seamingly a new rad cap (you'd think). what is it that i need to check regulary

and finally as i am not the most mechanically minded person, it has come with a most offensive (to me) wooden and chrome steering wheel which if i could get off will find its way to ebay. however, i can not get it off as the horn is in the way and there seems to be no screws. luckily i have the original as well. any ideas?

Yes. Very handy when cleaning the car but dont forget to apply the handbrake before taking it out of park. (got the dents in the garage door).

If its already over-heating go back to the dealer. Wise precaution is to flush the old coolant out and refill with a decent deionised water and antifreeze mix.

I've never had the steering wheel off. Try putting it in Surf Parts For Sale section. There are enough people on this forum with lousy taste!!!!!!
Welcome to the mad world of Surf ownership.
    It's only a hobby!

I've never had the steering wheel off the Surf, but the procedure on most cars with aftermarket wheels would be...

Prise horn button off, should pull straight out. (original factory wheels tend to have hidden screws, aftermarket generally don't)
      Disconnect horn wire(s) now revealed.
Release locking tab (where fitted) on large nut now revealed in centre of wheel.
Loosen centre nut, Have someone hold the wheel for you, try not to rely on the steering lock as it is possible to damage this when loosening the nut.
Slacken a few turns but do not remove.
You now need to free the wheel from the column/shaft. Often you can simply tug on it, or slap the back of the wheel. (this is why you diddn't remove the nut above, otherwise it can come free with a jolt and smack you one in the head!).
If you can't budge it by hand, a steering wheel puller is called for...... then straighten the front wheels and steering wheel, remove nut and wheel, job done!

When refitting, check if you had a tabbed washer fitted that there is an unused tab available to secure the nut, never rebend a previously used tab, otherwise, off to Toyota for a new one. Some cars use a nyloc nut and therefore do not have such a washer.

      Hope this helps.

cheers everyone, i changed the steering wheel today and discovered that sometimes all you need is a little confidence with a flat head! it came off fine. the oe wheel is loads bigger and it is so much easier to steer with as it does not require as bigger turns. the bummer is that the wooden one was loads thicker than the oe one..ah well.
anybody know about rear view mirrors as i currently have a huge white surfboard with a mirror in it. this prevents my visors coming down? it looks like i just slot another onto the ball joint. if i went to the scrappy, would a mirror out of a corrolla fit do you think?
p.s. dont you love how they have a noise for every occasion, at least mine does not have a speed bell.
