  • Leaking 2.4 front crank seal

Hi. After spending a few evenings cleaning my engine to find the oil leaks, it seams the only one left is the front crank seal. I am thinking of replacing the cam belt fairly soon and was just wondering how difficult the crank seal would be at the same time?
Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated

From memory you'd just need to get to the point where you have the old belt off, then use a puller to remove the crankshaft sprocket. Prise out old seal and drift in new one.

I'd recommend you buy a proper Toyota seal as the aftermarket one I used was a loose fit and failed after a few thousand miles. Replaced with proper one and it's been fine since.
