just a quickie - would it be fair to assume that if you fitted a new head
you would fit new timing belts????? have a 2.4 with a new head but the t-belt light is on just wondering if whoever did the work forgot or didnt know how to reset the light - any ideas

Ask whoever did the Head, only they would really know.

If doing the head, i would change the timing belt, if i wasn't sure if it had been done recently. Is there any label on the engine, near timing belt indicating when belt was changed, normal practice.

As Bob said only the person who did it will know. If you need to reset the light, on the instrument binacle there is a small rubber bung, remove this and use a long thin screwdriver to press the small button under this on the facia.
