Yet again assumption and surmise have made a total ass of me.
The previous owner fitted new alloys and tyres at goodness knows what expense but did not not spend a few pounds to have the wheels balanced.
That's right folks, my automotive woes were the result of unbalanced wheels.
I can only thank all those who helped me with their advice and apologise for my own stupidity.
