Hi Guys, thought i had sorted the 2.4 surf out ln130 model, but coming home again, today from londong to norfolk the surf overheated whilst pulling the caravan, this is the same sympton as before overheated for no apparent reason, i was going along lovely 60 to 65 mph towing the shed no much overtaking me, get within 13 miles of home and the temp gauge climbs right up and vehicle starts to overheat // i pull over straight away and call rac, before they came i had a look inside the engine compartment, the overflow bottle lid had blown off not literally, and coolant had come from witin that bottle and sprayed about, i waited a bit, (but clearly not long enought before taking of the rad cap, and whoosh lucky i didnt scold myself
by the time the rac man came it was about an hour and he had to put in a large amount of water, we started her up, he followed me all the way home,
temp gauge dead smack in the middle, perfect,
any ideas
when he filled her up with water, he kept the radiator cap off, and said there was a little bubbling going on, which indicated to him the start of the head gasket, but surely i would lose power, as it was it was perfect,
dont want to shell out pounds first without checking the obvious
kindest regards Dave in norfolk
have done hydrocarbon test in the coolant no hydrocarbons whatsoever, so head gasket sounds ok,
could it be a circulation problem do you think,
radiator gets ever so hot,
