  • Throaty Air Inlet

Have recently noticed an increase in 'throaty' engine sound, like if you've blown a hole in the exhaust some point. Quick check and it's coming from the air intake and reverberating in the filter housing. Not that noticeable when first warming up but more so when fully hot. No excessive smoke out the back end at the moment.
Is this a sign (or sound) of Turbo Trouble ahead??

Could be just the air filter element breaking up or not sitting in the housing correctly. Some people have had troubles with the filters being slightly too small and vibrating in the housing.

    Cheers

Thanks Andy but I tried that one. Loosened the end of the intake connetion away from the housing and a deep rasping is coming from the end of the intake pipe, sounds like a blown exhaust noise. It doesn't seem to be affecting power but I have noticed the turbo needs a little heavier foot and a bit more coaxing to cut in these last few weeks...hmmm

      We'll see
