head gasket

had my head taken off my93 surf 2.4. ordered a new gasket off millner off road but when it arrived it was a 3l gasket.

my question is will that gasket b ok with the original 2.4 head as it has got extra holes in it next 2 the piston holes.i know that the 3l head fits the 2.4 block but am un sure if it makes any difference as the holes are blocked on the orignal gasket

sorry if im being stupid but dont want 2 put the head on and have 2 take it back off as its not a small job as many of you would know

If you mean 3L as in the engine type, then I can't see it being any different, the 3L 2.8 head is the uprated head to fit your 2L 2.4.

If you mean 3L as in the 3.0 liter 1KZ/TE then it won't fit.

all i know is its got 3l on the packet i asked 4 the gasket 4 the 2.4 so hopefully all will b well

If you replace a 2.4 head with a 3L head use a 2.4 gasket. The 3L gasket is for the 3L block which has 96mm bore as opposed to the 92mm of the 2.4 so use a gasket that matches the bore.
