over the last few weeks its been harder to start the 2.4 surf...turn over for ages then fire up in a cloud of smoke grey mostly ,,it starts first time from hot ,,,so im thinking heater plugs ??? but does it really need heaters in this weather ????

Yes it does, pull your plugs out and check them on your battery to see if they glow.
Even if you only have 1 down it will make a difference.If at first you don't succeed.........give up. -

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say it's deffo the glow plugs.
Also make sure that they have a good connection with the bar that runs the power to them.If at first you don't succeed.........give up.Comment

I agree with JB on this as there was quite a few of us this year with this problem.

well managed to test me plugs tonight and as you said 3 out of 4 were dead so managed to find 4 good ones so fingers crossed in the morning ....Comment

well morning came and though it started a lot easier it still smokes a bit and seems to run on 3 pots for a bit then all runs smooth and smoke stops ?????Comment

Did you put new or used plugs in? However if you checked them before you put them in then they must be ok whether new or not.
Make sure the bar is tight on the plugs as the plastic caps become loose and don't tighten the nut type thing up properly....if that makes sense.Last edited by Justbrad; 13 May 2010, 20:08.If at first you don't succeed.........give up.Comment
