1990 2.4l-te stalling at idle

my 2.4l-te stalls at idle after having been run for a period of time
i have reset the idle to spec 800rpm and 950 for idle up
the engine runs fine from start up it is only when it has been up to operating temp for some time does this occer
also when this happens and i restarted i have no or very low throtle response until the eng rpms pick up to about 1500

if any one can help

As just a thought, I had something similar before and it was a problem with auto box. Either needed more oil, clean fluid or was on the way out due to damage caused by a auto box radiator issue.

But it's something to check not a quality diagnosis.
