  • Leaky Rad

My rad has developed a small leak, that is water "weeping out" rather than spraying out.

It's at the top end of the rad somewhere near the right hand corner, haven't really narrowed it down more than that yet.

Now it first statred just after I ragged it up the orme, quite a steep climb most gogs will know, and then got home again and took a pic of the air intake hose mod an1mal_69 showed me, wich is when I noticed the moisture.

So question, is it best to just replace it with a roughtrax one,

or if it can be soldered do that for now and get one later?

Main concern that I'm planning on hitting Bala with some other guys here on sunday and for the first time since I've had the surf it's my first oppertunity to get it muddy where work etc hasn't gotten in the way.

May if an1mal_69 is free one evening for a look-see? I can solder pretty well but never done a rad before.

    peace

Sounds promising Albannach, pennies are tight at the moment, and are likely to be for a while longer till May at least, have to check and see.

Little update, got the leak fixed, soldered it with lead solder and a blowtorch in the end, seems to have done the trick, took it over the back of tan-y-goppa (where my Dad lives used his garage and blow torch to do the do) and gave it a good ragging, so far it's just steam comming from the wet grill of the rad, stopped doing it by the time I got home, so temp fixed for now.

All that said, I figure I'll be wanting to buy that rad if you still have it come May cooling is all on a 2.4 me thinks.

Hopefully; for me at least, you'll still have it.

          Thanks again Albannach
