  • 2.4 Fueling System

Hi guys is there a diagram of the fueling system anywhere i have a diesel leak somewhere after the pipe coming out of the fuel filter can see the engine is covered but cant see where its coming from grrr

also the jeep seems to be struggling under acceleration after 3k rpm and sometimes the engine check light comes on, i'm guessing this is related to the leak

    any ideas?

oh changed the fuel filter & glow plugs last night so wont be either of them, problem started a couple days ago

    cheers

1st thing I'd do is get some engine degreaser and jetwash all the diesel off. Then start it, put on idle up and have a good look to see where your leak is coming from.

You didn't say what bit of the engine was covered ? top, side etc..

    Also it's not a Jeep, it's a Toyota

http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...ighlight=codes (about a quarter of the pane down i think...) just look at the engine bay fuse box and there is a little diagnostics box.... just bridge the terminals with a special toyota check code tool

well guess you could use a paperclip

or to be proper get a bit of light cable (couple of inches long) and strip the ends, bridge the terminals and count the flashes of the engine check light.

You can also blank the memory on the ecu by disconnecting batteries for about 20 min i think to clear any old fault codes logged then drive it round for a bit, then do the check.

also there is a in-depth code check that you do while running but i cant remember what you do for that one sorry

                  sorted this at the weekend

the diesel leak was the gasket around the fuel pump, managed to do it in situe

the check light was a split in a vacume hose, so now no leak and a better behaving jeep lol
