Hi I could do with some help regarding my turbo/loss of power.
Out in the truck this afternoon running like normal no probs at all then engine light came on and I lost turbo!!
Stopped and turned engine off but still the same, decided to turn around and head for home.
20 min later engine light goes out and turbo starts to work again, a short while after that turbo dies again but this time no engine light on dash.
Anyone got an idea what to look at first? I am thinking a sensor or lose wire could not see anything when I looked but it was dark.

    Thanks
    Clive

check the turbo pressure sensor first, its on the side of the air filter box, then make sure the vacuum hoses from it are ok, especially where it goes into the inlet under the throottle housing.

then check things like the wastegate mech for sticking open

you could pull the fault codes, and see what fault the ECU is registering.

Hi Tony looked at the pipes etc last Sunday didn't see anything wrong.
Surf ran all week no problem until Friday then same thing as before loss of turbo power and engine light on!!! After about 1/2 a mile back to normal it happened again about 1hr later but this time I had turbo light on then off then on etc for about 2 min any more ideas on this problem.

Also anyone know of a surf mechanic in Notts/Derby area??

        Cheers
