O/D Off Warning Light Flashing

Het Folks,
A strange one this.
The Surf is a 2.4 ssrg
Two faults occured at the same time today when restarting.
The Speedo has stopped working and the Overdrive Off warning light is flashing when in O/D. It lights up fully as normal when I disengage the O/D.
Any idea anyone and advice gratefully received.

It'll be the speed sensor on the back of the transfer case (driver's side) that needs replacing, the one with three wires going into a black plug.

Big job is it or a simple fix ??
fingers crossed !!

its a 5 min job to replace it.1 12mm bolt to take out and unplug the wire plug and twist and pull out
