emissions and mot

just done mot this morning and the only thing it failed on was emissions ( badly as well at 5.0 on tickover and when he reved the bus it shut the machine down!!!) did an injector clean the night before cleaned it up a bit but still smokey, any ideas on how to get through the mot (dont care what it takes to get through) i thought about turning the diesel pump down just for the mot but dont know where it is any ideas on this

Block off the EGR and make sure it has a good run before the test.

John, Have you changed the air and fuel filters recently? As said in above post, give a good blast on the motorway immediately before you go for the re-test,

Also, try adding some veggie to your dinodiesel, does wonders for emissions!

I agree with Nigel, EGR everytime and get some carb cleaner and clean the !!!! from your inlet manifold! if you have already had the MOT re-post with the outcome?!

well did the egr trick and also 50/50 mix of veg oil and diesel and still it gave a reading of 4.97 which is still a fail, need some help plz!!!

any ideas?

Assuming you did the EGR correctly, block off pipe from the top of it, it sounds like you are really throwing some s**t out. I trust you gave it a real good blast out before the MOT, nice hard drive up the motorway or good fast bit of road.
Whole bottle of redex to 1/4 tank of fuel and a good blast. Suppose the injectors could be over fuelling it causing higher emmisions????

yer i did the egr mod correctly (thanxs for posting piccy as that confirms that i did it right) before i did the mod and used veggy oil it tripped the machine out!!! i used the wynns injector cleaner in the filter and gave it a really good blast, does any1 know where the diesel pump is as we are going to turn it down before the next mot
