    Problem diagnosed in less than half an hour. This forum's good

    I'am no expert but ive always known this as a lift pump which is found on most early diesels and used as a manual way of priming the fuel system. A device that is not in every day use on your vehicle

      Exactly the same system as my old M reg Mondeo diesel. Nothing rare about them as far as I know.

        the loose orange wire

        yo bro did you find out were it came from i did the egr removal later notiec loose behind back of engine were does go to tested it live 6,8 volts so not earth wire my car turns but wont start can you tell were it goes please send bottle jack daniels

          help anybody out there wire that comes out of the wiring loom near the back of the engine, two brown wires with ring terminals by the egr valve. i tested that wire live registering 6.6 volts .i noticed it after i removed EGR valve where exactly does it connect to? car turns over but wont start with that wire hooked up to inlet manifold still wouldent start before removed EGR the car was runner
