  • Drive, speedo and dash lights

    Hi all

I've got a very annoying problem that's now turned into 3 problems.

2 days ago the speedo stopped working. It was fine for a short outward journey but coming back decided that it was going to stop playing.

I set about checking all the connections and so on. This morning not only isnt the speedo working but also the dash lights for all the engine functions (charging/alternator, oil pressure and the like) have all disappeared too. This may be the bulbs, but all at once? I still have main beam warning, hard suspension, indicators, O/D off, but NO 4WD.

Finally, having started her up, she moves fine in reverse but in drive (forwards) the transmission isnt responding to the accelerator.

If anyone's got any ideas where to look I'd be very grateful.

    1992 2.4TD auto LN130

Edit update: She pulls OK in reverse, and pulls forwards OK in L and 2, but still not in D

I would suspect the ECT, ECU. It's behind the kick panel next to the throttle pedal. The main engine ECU is behind the similar panel on the passenger side.

Thanks for the reply, I'll give them a look. There also appears to be a relay sat atop the ECU in the driver's foot panel. Any idea what that is?

Ignore that last, I checked out the relay and it works fine whatever it does

          Juts had a thought.

All my problems started after I had disconnected (one at a time) the batteries) to charge them.

Anyone else had problems after removing then re-installing batteries?
