  • New Turbo - Warning Light

Just installed a new CT20 turbo into my 89 surf 2.4L manual. Only took me about 4 hours and a little skin off one knuckle... not too bad for a newb. Can't believe the improvement in power and lower emissions.

However, when I have the turbo engaged for an extended period of time on a steep climb, my turbo warning light comes on. I only notice this during these extended boosting periods and it resets when the engine is shut off and restarted.

Figure it's just a little overboost and the sensor's getting a little agitated. How do I adjust the amount of boost? Is it done by the adjusting the actuator rod? Is it something else I'm not aware of?

When the warning light comes on the turbo still responds well and I'm not noticing any increase in emissions. I've just changed the fuel filter and cleaned and re-oiled my K&N air filter. Still noticing the problem with the turbo light.

If it is a quick adjustment, could someone post a quick guide and pic to help me get 'er fixed up?

    Cheers.
