  • Fuel consumption, FYI

    in my last 'normal driving' week (to / from work)... i measured 27.8MPG over 250miles.

    My son has a 92 2.4 ,he does n't get 25 , I also think his fuel consumtion is n't that good as I drive it any chance I can! ,as I chipped in for his car for his 21 st I am a bit p--d off as I done a fair bit of research and reccomended it to him,also sh-t myself on friday as the was a bit of froth in the expansion tank,(not been seen since )no loss of water or overheating maybe am paranoid about head probs .

      Were you switching the engine off when going down hills to get that figure.
      My 92 2.4TD autobox normally does 20, but managed to hit 22 when on holiday (Ialmost danced with joy at that figure),
      Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

        hehe no... just learn how the auto likes to shift and drive to suit it, keep the turbo light off, take your foot off the throttle when going down hill... (gravity is FREE), check your tyre pressures oh and redex helps

        one of my previous MR2s was an automatic Supercharger, i had that for 4 years and got to learn how the ECT system works... which does help
