    4 runner 2.4td 1991

    Was just wondering if anyone out there could help me.
    Is the 2.4td engine in a 1991 4 runner the same as the engine in a surf of the same year?
    Also would the exhaust be the same?

    oi didn't think there was a 2.4 4runner.I thought the 2.4's were all surfs.
    I know the 3.0l surfs came in about 1992-93 ish and that would of been the same for the 4runners i would of thought

      If we are talking UK 4 runner then it was 93 to 96 only, either 3.0 diesel or 3.0V6 petrol

        It is an import, and it's definately a 2.4, although it says 4runner on log book, the back door has hilux surf ssr-x and it says surf on the sides.
        How do I find out what engine it is?

          A '91 model will be a Surf, LN130 2L-TE with a 2.4 EFI Turbo Diesel engine.
