  • LN130 rear seat belt fitting

    Hi All,

Just got a couple of inertia reel seatbelts from Roughtrax to convert my LN130, 1990, from lap belts to new style.
I'm puzzled as to how the retractor fits to the bodywork.
Can anyone direct me to a thread covering this? There must be dozens of them somewhere !
    Muchos gracias!

as your truck was never fitted with them you will need to remove the plastic panel to fit the belts and then you'll need to cut a hole id the plastic panel for the seat belt to come through

Mine had a panel on the wall body panel to accommodate the belt, but you have to take the old bolt off near the roof for the anchor point, and you need to have the wall panel off to reach the bottom part inside the wall near the floor (don't put the wall back on until you've got it right).

I made the mistake of going to the wrecker and getting this part without the short lap buckle side, and the two styles don't work together, so make sure to get both sides.

its just as stormforce says, it sounds more difficult than it is, like Richard said you will have to make some modification to panel once you have the panel off its pretty easy to see where everything should go. i have an 89 gen 2 that had lap straps and it took my about two hours but that was taking it slowly so as not to break the panels and i also fiddled with the speakers too. If you can get help and your careful you should be able to pull the panel out enough to get access with out total panel removal. If you do remove the panel have a good look inside the wheel arch you will probably find some corrosion there even if its not visible from the out side i treated mine hopefully so it will give my truck a few more years before needing some serious welding.
it never rain it pours! glad I got the 4X4
