I sold it cos my MR2 was back on the road after major work and I no longer needed it.

I also sold it to someone local, who knew about the head, but having seen it continue to work for a year, didn't care much as he was only paying £200 for a working car.

you wouldnt use it and keep it because you know there is an underlying problem.

for every one that may work (for an unspecific amount of time - NOTE, TEMPORARY REPAIR) there are probably a few more that still fail.

is it worth bodging up your trusted car? do you want it to let you down when you least need the hassle or do you care for the 2nd most expensive thing in your life..... the mrs being number 1 not the house.

i am only saying, of course, it must work.....for a while otherwise people wouldnt buy the stuff would they, but....whats the point unless you just need it to work till its sold?

pity the new owner and all.

I think the stuff is designed as a 'last ditch' repair for cars that aren't cost effective to repair - or are you really suggesting I should have spent a few hundred quid replacing the head on a D reg Pug 205 worth around £200??

Nah mate, a £5 bottle of blockweld and a year later it was still going strong. In fact, I sold it for £200 (what I paid for it) and several years later I was still seeing it scooting around Malvern! THAT is cheap motoring.

There is a place for these products. It isn't in cars economically viable to fix properly, and it CERTAINLY isn't in oil!!!

As for reading the instructions, you mean the ones that say this product is an irritant an is not meant for human consumption.. then yes i did... lol
For the Dumb comment... ummm I did check both pully's, the top had movment but the bottom is solid...! i've removed the head and all seems to be in working order so its only the bottom thats not moving... so being a stuburn git i will be removing the bottom part of the engine and stripping the little git to see just how much damage i've done...

Fingers crossed i can get some movment.....
