  • No fuel to engine!

    Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum. Of late I have doing a bit of service work on some Surf's. I currently I living in Spain. To make a buck or two I do general mechanic work on anything with a motor! The first service I did on a surf went well and I was impressed with the truck.
The latest Surf a 2.4 diesel turbo LN130 model has been left for about 5 months facing uphill! It has been moved to flat ground and batteries charged but it won't start.

I am not getting any fuel from the fuel tank to the filter housing. I have detached the pipes whilst turning over and there is nothing.
Is it possible that the pump inside the tank has seized? If so how is the best way to remove it and free off?

Cheers for any help in advance!

    Tony

there is no pump in the tank.did you disconnect the hose before or after the filter housing.if before you wont get any fuel if after then i would bet its the hand primer on top of the filter housing theres a DIAPHRAM INSIDE AND ITS PROPABLY PERISHED.you will need a new filter housing as im pretty sure you cant just buy a new diaphram for the primer pump.

A new filter head is about £180 ..........try stormforce, supersurf or lord lucan who break surfs and should have a second hand one

I forgot to say when I undone the plastic drain bolt on the bottom of filter a little fuel came out. Nothing came out of any of the pipes.

When fitting the new filter housing do you just pump the top or do you have to blead all the injectors as well?

Is there a reasonably cheap wkshp manual for the surfs?
