    Weekend Off

    Thanks Guys. I think I will book a few days off work and give it a go, it can't be any worse than fitting a Zetec engine in a fiesta! I managed that job in 3 days and everything worked! LOL! Don't be surprised though if I ask lots of daft questions!!!!!!!!

        Yes it is - the glorious straight six sweetness that is the 1FZ-FE.

        Its killing me not to be doing this turbo, but patience is a virtue and all that lol

        Here's the exhaust manifold I got from Oz, its about 24'' long



        Hand tightened on the head



        Here's a pic of the intercooler - 3'' dia pipes yay (not quite in its exact location)



        The turbo will be low down - like this

            Not so much difficult as just an awful lot of 'things to do'!

            Don't try this unless you have a comprehensive toolkit, and you will need help lifting the head off. If you go for it, video and label everything - all hoses nuts bolts etc etc etc.

            Do not try and remove a valve without the correct spring compressor. Take the head to a garage to get the valve out.

            They are stretch bolts on the 2.4 and they cost about £50 I think. They can only be used once.

            If I was doing this I would allow a long, quiet weekend, including Friday!

            She " straight arm " lifted my head off while I was working out how I was going to manage it!!
