Having had all the probs with the 3.0 i have had to call it a day with it for now.
I have managed to pick up a 2.4 at a brill price of 200 quid. Everything has been done on it ie the head but it is struggling to start from cold. It throws out black smoke and takes ages to fire up.
Once it has it runs a dream.
    Its had new glow plugs.
Any ideas lads, need it running right for the Macmillan.
    Cheers!!!

It will start without the fuse .......it will just be a right pig to start

It's the normal problem after a glow plug change

I would still look at the wiring to the plugs and the heater relay before spending out dosh.
Althought not blowing the fuse could still be wired up wrong......

Right lads, still having probs starting her up from cold. Changed the 80amp fuse but still the same. One thing i have noticed is the yellow light on the dash stays on for about 4 sec's longer than the 3. dose. there are new glow plugs in.
If i put my foot to the floor then turn her over she starts a little better.
                  Any more ideas please

Have you cracked the injectors just to make sure they're all spurtin?

Did you check the glow plug relay too?

I've got some downloaded stuff with info on testing the preheat system but will have to attatch them one by one..
