Pull the cog off with a puller? Haynes don't do a Surf manual, but if it's just any old manual you want (you didn't say if it was a Surf one you wanted) Halfords keep a large stock.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

With a stanley knife. How should I know, I'm not a mechanic.

Probably made it up, as do most specialists. I reckon you could do it with a nail file though. It must be a simple job cos I have seen the pulleys inside the engine bay!

i asked how you could have a 1997 2.4.........then noticed it was a pick up...must read vehicle details

anyhow im not sure if the engine and pulley arrangement are the same for a later 2.4

Doesn't matter, you can apparently take it off with a Stanley knife (possibly even a nail file)...

would it be a reference to the harmonic balancer having debonded ??
anyhow, if its the same as an older 2.4, undo the pulley nut,get the key out and use a puller....do a search on 2.4 cambelt change..there is loads of info on how to do it.

I used 2 5' metal bars, would love to see how it's done with a stanley knife and a nail fileteeth:

You can get pretty much any manual you need of ebay

use a puller,or a pair of crowfoot bars .the cog is on a keyway so shouldnt be too tight.
