Well after much crossing of fingers and tons of help from all on this forum i had to give up and bite the bullet today, i have just bought a new complete head and relevant paraphenalia!
I must say how impressed i have been with the company Im using . They are in bristol and called RoughTrax, anyone familliar? they have a really helpful/friendly chap there called Barry who is happy to listen to your ideal wish list, go and find the parts, and then surprise you with non-heart stopping price!
So here goes: Brand New casting with all new seals, cranks, tappets etc etc (only part re-con'd and ground are the valves). New Cambelt, All gaskets and bolts, ready to bolt straight on just need your old sprocket = £810! inc carriage + Vat, to me that seems pretty good? bearing in mind all gaskets and belts are Toyota. In surrey everything seems to be more expensive! same stuff (but patent gaskets) in local supplier £1000+Vat. When he thought up that price he obviously thought that the torn jeans bad hair and un shaven look was my attempt at looking fashionable rather than completely Brasic!
Does anybody know roughly how long the ends of the injector nozzles should stick out of the injectors, just having mine re-done and the guy at the shop reckons mine were out too far appx 2.5mm he showed me some that he saidwere right appx 1mm long, but gave no explanation?. Just wanna check cos he seemed a bit cagey!
Well if anyone out there wants an old cracked casting let me know as Roughtrax only want the parts back as they don't bodge cracked castings (good to know)
