Second Battery Dead

The second battery on my old 2.4 is dead and pulling the good one down, If I were to disconnect the earth off the bad battery would that affect the truck at all.
Im not too worried as ive just bought Antshiels 3.0 3rd Gen but need to use the old monster for another week or so,

Disconnect the positive cable of the knackered battery and insulate it.

But Im getting rid of it next week, My pal is having it so I dont want to spend another penny on it, Its been a money pit since I owned it so I wont be sorry to say goodbye to it, Just cant wait to pick up Antshiels truck!!!!!!!!!

Just had to do mine been on the truck since i imported it from Japan was ok one day, then a sudden burst of really cold nights and both of them died got two for £100 at a local battery specialist now for the glow plugs. he also checked the old ones and the one on the drivers side had eaten the plates inside
