  • diesel loss problem

well I think I am only doing about 35 kilometres per £10 at the moment...

I have been under the truck and no obvious leaks... Hoses seem fine too..

any ideas why I am only getting about 35km to just under 10 litres?
One day at the time I guess..

              Ooops!!

Got me figures wrong!! Its £10 your putting in

              Yeah somethings probably wrong.

If the only thing you've changed is the air filter then i'd say thats to blame. Its not blocked or anything?

An unless the filter is new for the few quid its worth changing to get it out the loop.

yep and yep no problems there....
Have been burning a little more oil lately but surely that shud not really matter on a 20 year old 180k diesel engine?

                  Mines the same mate.

Chuck some bigger tyres on! You'll have a reason for it then.

haha yeah but I am only running 31"

well I think I will just have to crawl under again 2mo and see if I can find a leak as I am convinced (even after not finding anything for a week) that I must have a leak somewhere....

it just can't drop about half for nothing...

                    But hey we will see....

and if not it will be a good excuse for getting another engine....

If it's burning that much diesel, you should be followed by a black cloud of smoke everywhere, or leaving a trail of diesel on the road.
If not, then the injectors could be knackered and dumping loads of fuel into the cylinders thats not getting burnt and could be 'washing' the bores which is also very bad!

Are you sure you're doing the maths correctly?
