heater stopped working

My heater in the 2.4td LNZ surf has stopped working. The heater switch does not go to setting 1 , but only stays in settings 2 and 3. It does not turn the heater on at all at any setting. I have also noticed that the airconditioning light does not come on any more when heater switch in any position.
I suspect its the switch is knackered ( melted ?) rather than the heater itself.
Any suggestions please. Its freezing without the heat!

Is the fan blowing at all, if so does it change speed?

Can you change the temp of the air coming out of the vents?

Hi,
The fan is not blowing at all. When engine is warm/normal, there is slight heat coming from vents when the temp slide is set to hot (red colour).

Fan motor might be fubard or dash control switch dead.

Mines just done the same, i have cut into the wires to the fan motor, run a 12v feed with on off switch. Now have blower either off or on full but better than nothing.
