the truck has been lifted, but by the previous owner, he had already cut the hole in the bonnet and fitted a scoop, but never got round the doing the IC. I'm assuming the lift has already been done

Have a look where the body and chasis meet at the body mount points. If there's a block between the two, then it's been lifted.
