  • Head Gone ?????

Ok, so I popped out today to get some veg oil from costco, when I started the engine I had plooms of white smoke out the exhaust, I thought I may have not waited for the glow plugs so I wasn’t to bothered and all cleared up, off I went, pulled up at an island and when I set off again, there was the white smoke, after that it was straight roads and no smoke, then I noticed that the oil pressure was low (below the first line), checked the oil an it was between full and empty, so I filled it up, with no effect.

On the way home, again low oil pressure, water temp at normal, any time I stop and start I get the smoke.

When I get home I notice a small split in the top of the rad, I fixed this by soldering it and filled it up, ran the engine, filled it up, ran the engine and so on until full, now the water is spitting out of the expansion tank overflow.

    Still with low oil pressure

    Any help, Please.

sounds to me like it's gone. best thing to do is get a block test kit to check for exhaust gases in the coolant

Is the water in the expansion tank rainbow coloured?
Could be the oil cooler gasket leaking. (the part that the filter screws onto)

When did you last change the oil/filter?

No there is no oil in the water or water in the oil and the oil filter was changed along with the oil about 6 months ago, when we had that sunny day.

Same here, If the wind is going towards the back of my truck i see a huge load go past the door!

I know its not normal to do that... but im probably just too afraid to find out why it does that

I thought that was normal , it was rough on idle since I have had it, give it a good blast with the accelerator and all clears up.

As for the smoke I normally have it on start up but not to the extent you cant see to reverse off the drive.

Water in the fuel? Try opening the drain cock on the bottom of the fuel filter.
Also, could be turbo related, seal gone etc.

Thing is.... after it got a bit toasty an lost a hose leaving kent 2 years ago when i got it. The AA guy did a pressure test an it all passed ok. The truck was still hot. (as in the temp of the engine... not the coolant temp guage)

Filled the coolant back up an did a steady 60 all the way back to Romsey an it never got hot. It got a bit hot the other day leaving popeyes but i think i'd lost a bit of coolant before hand. I topped it up by about a pint when i got back an it's been fine since.
