if it's an auto, the aircon has a pair of fans under the engine above the aircon rad. The quickest way to check is to look at the aircon compressor with the engine running, the pulley centre part is stationary with air con off, switch aircon on (button lights up green) and the centre part turns with the outer pulley. (does that make sense?) if the compressor is ok, check the sight glass on the metal pipe from the aircon compressor (it's near the front grill off centre toward the passenger side), if it is bubbling, or you can see fluid, then you need a recharge, if there is no fluid, then you could possibly have a leak, either way, you need an aircon specialist.

No the centre of the compressor does not turn ? yes it is auto but ther is a small fan to the front of the normal cooling fan and that does not turn ?

the small fan in front of the rad is just for additional cooling for the engine rad, although i don't think anybody in this country has ever seen it kick in.

if the compressor is not activating, (is the aircon button lighting up?) i'd check the fuse, although i'm unsure which one it is, i'll dig out my max ellory manual and see if i can see it in there.

theres a 10a fuse for the aircon in the fuse box, seems to be between 30a heater fuse and 30a fan fuse

Could be down to needing the system re-gassed, if you can find a mobile air-con man in teh yellow pages they're normally very helpful and not too expensive.

It probably needs re-gassing. It won't kick in if it's short of gas.Costs around £65 +vat. Taska, you must have posted while I was writing!!

Is the fuse box behind the glove compartment or the one in the engine compartment? the one in the engine compartment as an aircon relay switch in there but no fuse I dont think
