Buying one: whats wrong with this 1991 2.4TD?
Guys,
I just chatted to someone about a Manual 1991 2.4TD Surf today, the owner is sick and tired of it, wants a pittance for it to be taken off the drive.
PROBLEM:
The Engine, apparently, "makes odd noises from the bottom end" but there was no overheating probs found during the owners 10 mile trip home.
Can you guys give me an idea of the costs to expect to fix this, pls? what could be the issue? How much would it be to fix (ballpark figure so as not to give my piggy bank a shock), Do any of you know a decent Surf Mechanic in or near Preston, Lancashire? Any idea on how much it might be to recondition a 2.4TD engine? or get a second Hand 2.4TD manual Engine?
Being 1991, I assume that it is a 2nd Generation model?
