air filter probs??

Hi all
Just changed the air filter,the old one was truly in need of a good rest, the beast now produces a lot more smoke (black) on start up and (white) when revved, it also seems to be a lot more lumpy when idling, any thoughts please

has the fuel filter been changed recently and add some ATF or Redex to the fuel filter before refitting or to the tank to give the fuel system a good clean

Check you haven't dislodged the sensor from the airfilter housing too. I'd go with Rich and say you might be best doing a full filter set change, however, unless you have recently done so.

Sounds like the ECU needs re-setting 'cos it sounds like it's been arguing with the sensors for quite a while if the air filter you took out was really bad.

That is a problem I've just posted about, can this sensor being dislodged be the cause of extra smoke?
