  • Prop-shaft bolts

I've undone all the nuts on the rear prop, where it bolts to the flange on the gearbox, but the bolt heads won't turn at all, before I attack them with a big hammer, and a long handled breaker bar, is there something I've overlooked?
such as a keyway which stops the bolts from turning, or are they just being stubborn?
    Ta in advance
.....and then it turned blue, and dropped off!!!

    They're little feckers!
I bent a spanner trying to undo mine. If the nuts are loose, unscrew them to the very ends of the bolts (to protect the threads) and tap them out with a hammer. When loose remove nuts and pull out bolts.

on one end of the prop i think the bolts are fixed and the other end the nuts may be fixed. You will need to undo both ends and then slide the prop into itself inorder for it to release and drop down

Sorry, I bow my head in shame. Not getting enough sleep, baby teething big time now. And to think I've had my propshaft on and of about five times this year too!

not bashed anything yet mate, but come 6:00 this evening, dry weather permitting, then i would have been. Good job I had a look on here before I go home.

One thing, if the bolts are fixed at the gearbox end, why is there a hex head on them, if you cant turn them??
