o/d light flashing

hi folks my overdrive light is flashing on and off when i have the overdrive switched on , the overdrive is working fine , on and off no problem .
The light seems to flash on and off every 2 seconds .
Should i worry about this , any ideas what it could be??

its a fault light, you need to do the fault codes in the same way as the engine check light, and get the code for what the engine ECU thinks is wrong.

if the O/D light is flashing the ECU's logged a gearbox related fault code, pull the code and see what it thinks is up with itself.

Is your speedo working ok? Mine went off and that caused the OD light to flash...

Thanks folks for your help,suppose i should have given the full story ,only just clicked now!
Anyway few of us where at drumclog a week past and , anyway i had water up to my anckles and up to the fuse box , also below the fuse box........yes the auto ecu box so it got rather wet and gearbox was a bit iffy on the way home!!
so it would have sent a fault code to the ecu , gearbox seems fine now just the light flashing , will the light still flash after a fault code has been sent to the ecu even now everything seems back to normal?????

Probably. Clear the code, drive it and see if it comes back.
