  • New Member THANKS FOR TECH HELP

Just wanted to thank you all for your help with starting problem. Have just checked the Glow fuse........blown.......as you all suspected. Rang Toyota to get a new one and they are going to give the truck a free check for me to make sure everything else ok. My faith in human nature restored. Hopefully this will solve my starting problem. I was having a really bad week, you have all cheered me up, perhaps life's not so bad after all........

Do you know why it blew. If not then you may do the same to the new one. Check for any short at the glow plugs before you try the new fuse.

Don't be so hasty with the human nature bit - you'll probably find that the stealership will discover many items essential for your safety that need changing. Be on your guard!

Oh, and maybe time to cough up yer £10 membership then after the amazing cavalry ride in to help

Wise words, ask them for a list of 'faults' and let us see it before you agree for them to start work.

Well, that saves me digging my large collection of hammers and molegrips out, then! Good luck finding somewhere to park if you are going to stratford Toyota....

Thanks Guys, did go to Toyota and was told to just change the fuse and not to start messin around with the engine, could end up with all sorts of problems. They were really helpful, no charge and he even suggested I get my glow plugs and fuse off the net and change them myself, (they did not have any in stock). Got all the instructions from web site given by a member, so will have to find some spanners or something and get dirty. Hubby giving me so much stick over it......doesn't want to help or even discuss my problem.......never let a Hilux come between you and your partner....could end up in D.I.V.O.R.C.E. just off to find a gun.......and some valium........kim

Paying my dues for all the help.. £10 was it?...

Charlie - you can't be more than 20 miles away from Kim - let her use your drive, let her wield the spanners and you supervise

And Kim, well done on the blue star!!

Thanks for the support, you lot really are so cheery......what do I have to do to get two stars then?...........I have had an offer of help on the General Forum from a Chap who lives just down the road....how convenient is that?.....just hope the old man doesn't catch him here!!....just kidding....I know I said he hates his job, but he hates everything else as well. Unless it has four legs, a tail and runs at a fence at 30 miles an hour, he is not interested.....can't see the Hilux doing that somehow.......perhaps I should grow a tail!!!.............kim
