  • Rear fog wiring

    Hi all

Failed on the rear fog light. Old light was shot s bought a new one, traced wiring back to under dash and looks pretty comical!!

It has been wired with a relay and inline fuse, power from ignition lead with inline fuse to relay, power from what looks like a headlight wire to switch, 2 earths coming off relay on a dual connector, 1 going to switch and 1 going to body, 1 wire coming from relay to rear fog lamp and 1 wire going from switch to relay.

Now im not an auto electrican so I have just tested the basics, got 11.85v at the light, the switch and the relay but dont seem to have any power.

Could someone shed some light and possibly a diagram as to how this should be wired up???

    Many thanks

All I did for mine was run a wire from a live under the dash, put a fuse and switch in it, then ran it to the foglight and earth from light to body..

Worked fine for me and took about 15 mins

Run a wire from the dash lighting circuit to a switch (switch must have a warning light when it's switched on btw), then from the switch to pin 85 on the relay, then a wire from pin 86 on relay to earth. This will turn the relay on and off, and only work when your lights are on.

Run a fused wire from the battery into pin 87 on the relay. then run a wire from pin 30 on the relay to the foglight. Then run an earth from the fog to chassis.

        Rob.
