    How much of a knightmare is it to fit the outer CV boot?? Mine has gone sqwish! Is it a garage job??

        BTW - taking the drive shafts out can be a bit invovled.

        One way I have changed the boots is to get under the truck and disconnect the inner part of the shaft.

        6 bolts and the shaft drops down, prise the plate off the back of the cv joint, undo the circlip, the whole shaft comes apart, allowing you to slide the new boots onto the shaft.

        you'll need a big tub of cv grease and it IS one of the muckier jobs on the surf.

          Replace both boots because you have to dismantle inner joint to be able to do the outer.

            So if im doing all 4 cv boots, will i need 4 big tubs of cv grease?
            1 big tub being the ones u can get from roughtrax?
            So wot about the little sachet that comes with each boot?

              200 grams in outer joints and 275 in inner joints. Genuine Toyota kits may have brown and black grease. Use black in outer and brown in inner joint.
