Every post facelift (flush headlight) 2.4 or 3.0 2nd Gen Surf has 2 batteries. Only non-winter pack 3rd Gens, petrol and 89-91 2.4 Surfs had 1 battery.

But i'm not entirely wrong then am i 2nd gen - winter pack = 2 batteries

Picking up my 2.4TD powered 92 Prado from the dock within a couple of days.Hope the head is fine,as a well informed gent on here stated one time..said it was a great engine with one serious flaw..plan to watch the temp.gauge like a hawk.....lol

Watch the coolant level as well, it only gets hot once the water is gone! Gauge sender is high up in the system, only need to lose a liter or so and it isn't in the coolant anymore, so if it gets hot, the gauge dosn't register easily.
They are great motors, once the head is sorted, they'll run forever.
