turbo problem

i went to the mountains this weekend, i dove up the mountain to the ski hill and got to the parking lot no problem.
But my friend i was meeting was not, i had to meet him at a different parking lot higher up. i came out of the lot and it was icy so i put the truck in 4wd and i had almost no power, i could kinda hear spool but the light in the rpm gauge that says turbo will no light up. i did not shut the truck off when i stopped in the parking lot before i left, i also checked the piping form the turbo and nothing was loose that i could see. other then the power loss the truck runs the same, any one have this happen?

sounds to me like a split pipe

i took it inside where its warm for tonight to see if it makes a difference. how would i know if it was a crack would it be visible or would i have to hear it?
