cv joint

has most of you know i got a noise coming from the pasanger side wheel
a clattering noise cross with a grinding noise
i did take off the cv rubber and it was a bit dry i was packing grease in to it
i could feel the bearings with like a shiney ring round them this ring when i pushed on to it (with my fingers) it moved very slightley
is this normal ???

iam a bit thik when it come to things like this so please bare with me
iam loseing sleep over this

i did take off the wheel then the hub every thing was fine
the big brass nut and every thing round it was ok
but when i turned the axel it made a grinding noise must be what iam hearing when driveing
this is after greaseing the cv joint and doing 20 miles or so to run it in
its not pulling to one side or nothing any ideas on what could it be
and if any one knows how do i fix it

Have you checked there's nothing trapped between the disc and the back plate? The only way to be 100% sure is to remove the disc and look.

i checked that too
its seems to be like creeking comeing from the cv joint i think
any ideas any one
