Turbo

Wonder if anyone out there knows? Should the green turbo light be on when vehicle running? The light comes on when ignition is turned on but does not come on at any point after that.

it should be on all the time the turbo's active, ie) anything over about 2000-2500 revs

When the engine's not working hard (i.e. sat in Park) the light doesn't come on until after 3,500 rpm. Once you're moving, it's 2000-2500 like nero279 says.

You should notice a kick of power and a gentle whine. If your turbo is dead, the surf will be slow as hell. Otherwise if the light's still not on the suspects are:

- Vaccum hoses
- Disconnected / faulty sensors.

None of which is a major deal.

Thanx for that guys, it doesnt feel to be over sluggish. Have checked all the hoses I can find but nothing obvious jumps out.Which sensor and do I just replace it or is there a way of checking it? cheers

All but the first pic on that page refer to the 2L-T not 2L-TE.

There is a diagram on page two here - http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9859 - which shows the 2L-TE vacuum setup. The only other one is the Turbo Pressure Sensor hose from manifold to sensor.
