Oil leak

Every time I change the oil I have a small leak from the nut in the sump, I have to tighten it up a bit more a few days later to stop the leak.How tight should it be and can I overtighten it with a 12" long wrench handle?

You should replace the fibre washer on the plug each time you change the oil. That should stop any leaks.

You can overtigthen, and the seal has probably lost its integrity, shouldnt have to do it up really tight, i just tighten with rachet handle until it stops and give it a quarter to half a turn, otherwise you could strip the threads, or crack the sump
