    thanks for the info stormforce
fatfires is also correct i believe. my last car had a 6 pot ally head, so i had to get ally friendly antifreeze (boasting about 6 pot )

one thing tho, when you take the stat out, do u need a new gasket usually? or are they re-usable?
also i was at toyotas today booking in the steering recall, their bottles of pre mixed coolant are £10 per bottle. i said what the 1litre bottles???!!! she said yes, but i think she meant 3L. but still even so its £30 quid for coolant. NO THANK YOU. cheaper to mix yourselfes. apparently its 1/3 mix antifreeze. so if our system holds the 8.5 litres like they said ill just get 3L of concentrate.

oh and you did mean the viscous fan didnt you? not the lecky one.
    Oh Nana, what's my name?

there is no gasket for the housing but make sure the rubber ring is attatched to the thermostat properly as that is the seal for the thermostat housing also the new thermostat should come with this ring

toyota red coolant is premixed so dont go watering it down!
I use it in me 2.4 - main dealer will sell you the correct type.

other brands of Red coolant will proabably need mixing.

yes its pre mixed, but whats the point. like i said, still going to cost you £30 to do the surf! might as well get some decent stuff from halfords or local garage and mix yourselfs
i nearly fell over when she said its £10 per litre!
