Fuel pump - a new angle
Right, went to see a diesel pump repair man today, who said there is one common problem with fuel pumps that cut out when hot.... there is an electical connection that fits above the injector outlets (dunno what its called) and THAT is the culprit 90% of the time. They cost about £70 to replace.
Here is an image of said connector on the Denso pump (which I today learnt is a Bosch build in China under license) (from oz surf forum) - its the black cylinder above teh hex nut, top right with the lead leading off to the left.
Need to find another 2.4, swap the connector over and see if it fails - should indicate connector or pump fault.
will keep you updated.
