It does have a hidious rattle from the box when Ideling in neutral that goes when you depress the clutch

was the bearing changed with the clutch? if they were able to change the clutch without taking the gearbox out they might not have -from other experience its quite fiddly. but if it was fine before...

does the vibration happen regardless of engine speed as long as your going fast enough?

it would appear to judder at variable revs depending on gear/road type but its always at the same two speeds approx25kph and approx 55kph give or take a few kphs.
When I first got it a mate said of one of the many origional clatters and squeeks "sounds like yer clutch thrust bearing" I nodded and ignored it....maybe I should have paid a bit more attention.....
so you recon this could be the offending cause...which bits do I need and is there anything else I should do if the box is out.. This will be a diy job as I'm a mean aberdonian..or a careful enthusiast..take yer pick! any thing in particular to watch for??
      cheers

cheers for the offer Jotto, I'll maybe get back to you on that, but at the mo I'm looking for a quick fix, as out of the 5 vehicles I own, the surf's the only road legal one at the moment so I'm hoping to pick up one that doesn't require messing with.
                cheers tho'
