There's still a cable to operate the throttle with the pedal.

Then it could be the TPS (throttle position sensor)

                  28? Are you sure it's not 2 & 8?

                  1 - Normal
2 - Turbo boost pressure sensor
                  4 - Coolant temperature sensor
                  5 - Correction resistance (Pump)
6 - Pump speed sensor (Pump)
                  7 - Throttle position sensor
8 - Intake air temperature sensor
                  9 - Vehicle speed sensor
                  10 - Starter switch
11 - Switch sign (Vehicle not in P or N or A/C on)
12 - Timer control valve (Pump)
                  13 - Crank position sensor

To clear any codes either disconnect the battery or remove the ECD relay for one minute

ye it came up 2 and then 8 and i must of jumped the gun thinking it was 28 thanks for the info BUSHWHACKER, is there a way to test 2 - Turbo boost pressure sensor ,and 8 - Intake air temperature sensor , or is it a derect replacement, or can i frig them out just to get her running until i get the bits

The boost pressure sensor is in the yellow circle, the airflow sensor in the red circle.
Check that the short rubber pipe in the green circle is secure.

got the codes and all sorted but from ,but no 13 crank position sensor, the prob is i cant find the crank pick up leed , the engine was replased with a 1990 surf 2.4 td which had a throtle on the diesel pump , and i changed it for the fly by wire pump , the thing that conserns me is that there may not be a crank position sensor , where would i find the crank position sensor on the engine ?. if there is not one where can i go from hear . hope you can save the day BUSHWHACKER.

The real problem is you have an older 2.4 engine which does not have a Crank Position or Coolant Temp Sensor, so the Fuel Pump will never work correctly without them, because these sensors feed info to the ECU which in turn controls what the pump does.

well, if its a mechanical pump, surley it will not need any electrics? I would stick the mechanical pump back on and loose the fly by wire
                              What comes around goes around!!
